An Almost finish !!

Almost as in I need to find a couple of buttons in my cabin for her cardi and stick her eyes on, her eyes are pins, which I thought would be no good just put then there so she had eyes lol but they work very well and when I squeeze her head you don’t feel them from the back ! So might just glue them in place if I can’t find a suitable replacement !

really enjoyed making her, her hat and cardi are not from patterns just me making it up as I go along, very pleased with those and her cute little scarf

Thought I would have trouble with her hair but no, it was the easiest thing ever to attach, and she stands up on those cute little shoes all by herself, I’m in love!

Think she needs some rosey red cheeks in this weather so maybe a little makeup to sort that out.

now for a name ?!?

Lottie!

So, I have  plans for my garden this year, clearing after the devastation of keeping chickens and ducks for a few years, but with them all gone I can at last have a nice garden with flowers and things that don’t get eaten when A stray chuck gets out and has a good old munch, but as always things change all of a sudden……….we signed up for a allotment, fab I have always wanted one and now we have one, garden still going to happen but we need to get the allotment sorted first, shouldn’t take too long, it’s in pretty good shape…..if you look below the surface lol, no it is really, it has been well loved for many years but sadly its owner died last year and we have taken it on.

some before and after pictures of “lottie” after 6 hours work Saturday and Sunday we can see it all coming together, if it wasn’t for that massive amount of water falling from the skies we would have been a lot further but never mind, really excited to get some planting done when it dries a bit more lol

onions, garlic and potatoes sprouts, cabbages all waiting to go in, lots of seeds have been sewn, leeks, corn on the cob, spring onions .

blackberry bushes , goosegogs, waiting to be planted, already in (we inherited) strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb.

well I said I wanted to spend more time outside in the sunshine and this is a sure way of making that happen, can’t wait for spring to hit properly.

Look at this fab rhubarb going to be good.image

Snow gone…..Spring ?

The snow is melting nicely, can we do Spring now please? I am so eager to get out in the garden.

I haven’t done much in the garden in the last few years, with having the chickens, every time I planted anything they would just eat it, my strawberries, pansies, clamatis, all of it! But we recently lost all our chickens and the boys (two runner ducks) although the I miss having them I’ve decided not to replace them and have a garden for a change. I am so eager to get out there and get started that the BEAST FROM THE EAST has put that on hold, well outside anyway but I can always start inside right! So I have, I have turned the dining room into a green house lol, so much nicer to be potting and sewing seeds in the warm of the house but I am running out of room to sew any more seeds so I need it to warm up to get some back outside!

imageI am waiting for pansies , lobelia and tomatoes to show there faces, but my sweat peas have decided to show themselves yay, love to see things growing, I have a picture in my head of how I want it to look but I’m sure it will be something different lolimage

So…..looking forward to spending time outside in the fresh air and working on my little plan to make it look pretty…..watch this space.
